ARTISTA THENGIS RIONI

Biography:
"Painting is an attempt, to approach God." Thengis Rioni Each thing ist followed by its counterpart like a shadow in the aftermath of light - Thengis Rioni's imagery between exotic worlds and philosophy The Georgian painter and sculptor Thengis chose the name of the river Rioni - which runs through his hometown - as a surname. Rioni is more than just a name, it is a parable. Heraklit said that a man cannot step into the same river twice. The moment 's clearness is blurred by the running water just as it is by passing time. Thengis' pictures have an effect on the viewer like the river which gradually passes over and disolves the stone. Calm composure dominates these pictures. lt soothes the senses and makes the spirit pensive.

ARTISTA NATASHA VILLONE

Biogrphy:
''Before moving to Seattle, U.S.A in 2001, I studied painting, theater design and fine art in Orel, Russia, a small city south of Moscow. Many years I spent working in a factory painting flowers on samovars (Russian tea pots) and painting popular Russian folk art Zhostovo trays. Now my favorite things to paint are plates. They're small, don't take up too much space, and are easy to hang on a wall. They make a sunny, warm patch on your wall. It's strange, but my basic knowledge of how to paint came not from my art college, but from time spent painting Zhostovo trays. My old master always taught me three rules: outrageous colors, form and persective. Thank you, Victor Arsentivich. You did render your ideas in me.'' Natasha Villone.

Each sculpture has his specific expression, sometimes quiet, sad, introvert and sometimes happy, playing or extravert. The sculptor uses all kind of expressions. Christien Dutoit knows how to approach the ceramic with joy ness and a lot of inspiration. After more than 30 years of modelling ceramics, she now realises bronze sculptures as well.
